Flash vs. Flash Light

Tonight at about 1:45 am, I was at UNCW with Alec and we decided to go into the woods to take pictures using a small flashlight as the light source. I took the first picture (posted below) at 1/60 of a second at f5.6 aperature with the camera's built in flash, and you can tell it's obviously taken at night. The second picture was taken at 30 seconds (very long exposure) at f5.6 aperature and using the small flashlight as the light source made the picture look like it was taken at sunrise. These two pictures were taken only less than one minute apart. I was amazed by the difference.

Laney High

I took this picture at Laney High, where Michael Jordan went to high school, at about 1 am. This was my first picture I posted, but I wanted to resize it.

Developed in the dark room

This is a picture I took last summer of my friend Jeffrey for my 35mm black and white photography class.

I went to Wrightsville Beach with my friend Alec today and thought this was a cool picture, so I decided to edit it and make it look like a Ray Ban magazine ad. Let me know what you think.

Duck at Hugh McRae park

I took this picture at Hugh McRae park. Surprisingly the ducks let you get as close as you want.

My First Blog

Hi, my name is Nicholas Hunckler, but I go by Nick. I started this blog because my photography teacher recommended it and I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm really into photography and hopefully I'll be able to start my own photography business some day. When I graduate from college I don't want to get stuck with a job I hate. That's my biggest fear. I'll be posting pictures on here and would appreciate your feedback. I hope you subscribe and check it out regularly. I should make new posts at least a couple times a week.
